You call Michael who has made it safely into Syria through Damascus and is now in Homs, near the center of the country. You specify how the course of the war is changing and how unpredictable everything has become. He tells you that he may be leaving soon. It's not worth the risk for him. You say you hear what he is saying but that you are pretty much stuck in Aleppo and are searching for some of these DIY weaponeers. Michael tells you he has a friend named Abu Aarif that is in Aleppo and knows of some of the things you are talking about. He gives you this man Abu Aarif's number and tells you to take care of yourself. Everything is escalating he says. You don't disagree with him.
